Charlotte Hornets halfback Don Highsmith was named the World Football League player of the week Wednesday for his performance in last Saturday's 10-0 victory over Philadelphia.
Highsmith rushed for 101 yards and scored the game's only touchdown on a 27-yard run. The Hornets will attempt to stretch their winning streak to four games Sunday when they travel to Anaheim, California to play the Southern California Sun.
